WOUND CARE RESEARCH

Joined together with patients, caregivers, and medical professionals, the Wounds research group conducts top-notch studies with wound care applications for burns, major trauma, blast injuries, surgery, and diabetic ulcers.

Our study focuses on the following areas:

  • Develop, refine, and implement appropriate research methods for the study of wounds;
  • Enable the implementation of effective wound care and study the implementation of wound care research;
  • Improve understanding of the etiology, patient experience, outcomes, and costs of complex wounds (e.g., pressure ulcers, leg, foot, and surgical wounds healing by secondary intention);
  • Identify interventions for wound prevention and treatment that are both clinically and cost-effective.
